Wheel Chocks –
Black Pro Range Heavy Duty Wheel Chock B5076
Our heavy duty wheel chock is made from lightweight, tubular steel and has been designed for bikes with wider front wheels from 15” to 18” in size. The design of the stand increases stability and reduces pressure on key areas by spreading the weight accordingly. The stand has an adjustable front wheel buffer and the chock comes with ground anchor bolts so that you can secure your chock to the ground. This chock is not suitable for bikes with narrow front tyres, though- the cradles has a width of approximately 14cm so a tyre skinnier than that won’t be very stable. This chock is available for £47.99 at Ghostbikes.com. Please Note: The bike must also be secured using tie-down straps if the chock is being used for transit.
Black Pro Range Wheel Chock B5145
This wheel chock is made form a lightweight, 25mm tubular steel frame, keeping the weigh down but the strength and weight tolerance of the chock high. Construction is easy and intuitive so although it does not come with instructions- you should not have any difficulty piecing it together- all you need to do is secure four nuts and bolts. The pivot clamp allows the bike to be locked down by it’s own weight and the adjustable cradle allows you to re-position it to suit the size of your tyre. The Chock is supplied with rawl plugs for fixing the wheel chock to the ground but does not come with bolts for anchoring the chock. This chock is not suitable for bikes with narrow front tyres though and is designed to fit wheels from 17” to 21″ in size. The cradles have a width of approximately 14cm so a tyre thinner than that won’t be stable. This chock is available for £36.99 at Ghostbikes.com. Please Note: The bike must also be secured using tie-down straps if the chock is being used for transit.
Black Pro Range Wheel Chock B5075
This wheel chock is as simple as the get. It’s all in one piece and requires no construction, it even comes with the bolts to anchor it to the ground. The chock is not suitable for bikes with narrow front tyres and has a width of approximately 16cm, so bikes with thin tyres will have stability issues. This chock is available for £11.59 at Ghostbikes.com. Please Note: The bike must also be secured using tie-down straps if the chock is being used for transit.
–Frequently Asked Questions–
Q- What weight can the wheel chocks take?
A- Since they aren’t lifting the bike- the wheel chocks can take a lot of weight. The chock will be able to take the weight of your bike as long as the bike is upright and stable in the chock. Having the chock anchored to the ground is highly recommended.
Q- How do I find out the width of my bike tyre?
A- Your tyre should have numbers and a letter/letters on the side of it, eg 180/55 ZR 15. That first number, [180 in this case] is the width of your tyre in mm. Just divide by ten [or just remove the 0 in this case] to have the width in cm. So this tyre’s width is 18cm
Q- Should I use two chocks?
A- You can if you really want to and can accomplish it but I would personally have a chock on the front and a paddock stand on the back.
Q- Are assembly instructions provided?
A- I’m afraid not, with the one’s that require assembly. But the designs are so simple and intuitive with very little that needs putting together that they are very easy to put together. Just be sure to bolt everything together but not tighten the bolts up fully until everything is fixed in place. Once it is assembled, gradually go around each bolt, tightening bit by bit until they’re all fully tightened.
Q- Can I come into your shop to see it?
A- Yes you can, we usually have a good stock of them but you may want to either call in first or check the item on our website to make sure we have it in stock first. Above the price of the item it will appear in green with a tick saying “In stock, available for immediate dispatch.”
