On Saturday the 19th I found myself travelling down to Mold in North Wales for a ride out with the community from Northwest bikers The weather was a little unsettled in the morning but gave way to clear sunshine as the day progressed.
The route was a real beauty going through the Denbigh Moors, Betwys y Coed, Capel Courag & on to Snowdon & Llanberris. Down to the Beach at Abersoch then back through Portmaddoch, Harlech & Barnmouth, through Bala and the Horse Shoe-Pass stopping at the Ponderosa Cafe and then back home.
Being Wales the scenery was typically stunning and the day was an all round success despite a couple of riders coming off, however no one was seriously hurt. In fact the next run out is due on the 25th of July and several members of the Ghostbikes.com team will be attending, myself included.
Somewhat typically the other day I was asked to “model” my bike for our new Black Aluminium Folding Motorcycle Ramp; and since I managed to burst the rear tire on the motorway home from Wales I got an opportunity to make real use of it offloading the bike at my local garage.
Many thanks to James for fetching me and the bike at short notice and to the two anonymous bikers who stopped to check I was OK whilst waiting for recovery. Cheers guys.
At first I thought the bike ramp might have been a bit flimsy at such an angle considering it’s ultra lightweight design but it was solid and did it’s job perfectly with no fuss at all, since it folds in half I can just chuck it into the car boot for next time I need it, recommended.
