Hey, everyone! I’ve been looking for things to look at in my blogs and I was asked to have a look at another jacket from Rev’It! Its another jacket designed to be worn in the warmer and dryer weathers but its one of Rev’It’s more affordable jackets at only £109.98. The Rev’It Eclipse Motorcycle Jacket is a brilliant jacket that’s taken out most of the superfluous extras to bring you a less expensive jacket that specialises in protecting you and keeping you cool in warmer, dryer weather.
Its a mesh jacket with a shell made from 600D Polyester in the lower risk areas with Polyester Rib weave for the best performance in the higher risk areas. Its a fantastic material that is light and flexible and holds up really well against abrasion, which is why so many motorcycle garments are made from the stuff. Its got a tour fit but looks sleek enough to get away with wearing on a sports bike and it has adjusters on the arms, wrists and waist for a custom fit to you.
With it being a mesh summer jacket, the jacket has ventilation panels to keep lots of cool air moving through and venting out the hot air. So naturally this means that the jacket won’t hold up too well in the rain- if you’re caught out in the bad weather, you’re going to get wet. But wet weather riding isn’t this jacket’s intended purpose so we can’t really hold that against it. If you’re still just a little bit too warm, the jacket has a detachable thermal liner, giving you a bit more adaptability to how cool or warm the day is.
Loops at the back of the jacket allow it to connect to your belt. This is to help keep the jacket from riding up in a more forward leaning position or if you really have to reach for your handlebars. The Eclipse has two slit pockets on the front of the jacket, each secured with a zip and it also has internal pockets in the main jacket and in the thermal liner.
To keep you protected in an impact, the Eclipse has Knox Fexiform CE approved protection in the shoulder and elbow. They’re made of a lightweight and flexible Polyurethane that use a hinges to keep you comfortable with plenty of room to move. They’re designed to keep you comfy and cool while keeping you protected. Unfortunately the Eclipse Jacket doesn’t come with a back protector but it is “prepared” for one. That means the jacket has a specially made back protector pocket designed to fit the SEESOFT Type RV Back Protector Insert. It’s a CE Level 2 soft armour back protector, so it’s one of the best choices of soft armour out there on the market. You need to look inside the jacket to know which size of back protector to get though. For example, my Rev’It Masaru Leather Jacket in a Large size accommodates a SEESOFT Type RV in size 04.
The Eclipse comes in a few different colours too, Black, Brown and White
Over all, my impression of the Rev’It Eclipse is very positive. In order to bring us a more affordable jacket- they chose a job for it to do and made it so that is can do the job to the best of it’s ability in the simplest ways possible. The result is this great looking, specialist jacket from a top-notch brand renown for world class quality with an affordable price tag. It’ll make a fine addition to our range of Rev’It gear.
Thanks for reading everyone! Until next time!
