Hey everyone. I’ll be looking to get a new pair of boots some time soon so to give credit where credit is due, I thought I should do a blog on the boots I have currently – the Alpinestars Roam 2 Motorcycle Boots.
I absolutely love my pair of Roam 2 Boots. While very beaten up now after a year of solid use they’re still comfortable and still waterproof. The best part about these boots is their simplicity, so there’s very little on the boots to go wrong or fail like with other, fancier boots that have ratchet mechanisms or even magnets.
It’s a brilliant, stealthy, low profile touring boot that goes under or over my bike jeans nice and easily. It also camouflages well enough to be worn with a casual kit with the jeans over them and they won’t draw any needless attention.
The simplicity extends how the boot fastens- just three points of velcro on each boot and they must be secure enough because here I am after a year and the boots are still on my feet. Just having a velcro closure and no zips actually helps the boot as well. There’s less to go wrong and you’re essentially wearing a waterproof sock beneath a sturdy, protective shell.
There’s more protection going on than meets the eye, as well. The Alpinestars Roam 2 Boots have an good, rigid toe box, heel, dual density ankle protection and a shank reinforced sole. But despite how protective the boot is, it’s simple design makes them very light and easy to wear.
Like I said, I’ve had mine for a year at least and I’ve worn them every day and done everything in them. Working, riding, hiking, the lot. I’ve lived my life this past year in these boots and while they’re battered and beaten up, they still do the job. So you can compare, I’ve taken pictures of a brand new pair of Roam 2 boots against my well-worn pair.
Still comfy and still waterproof despite use all day every day for the last year. So if you find you’re a fair weather rider or don’t spend every waking moment in your bike boots all year round- these boots will last ages, even long after they’re not as pretty anymore. I’ll be giving a new model a try as well, maybe even something else in the Alpinestars Range but for £142.49 [prices accurate 25/06/18] I’ll definitely be treating myself to another pair of Alpinestars Roam 2 Boots as well.
Thanks for reading, everyone! Until next time!
