Hey, everyone! I’ve been tasked with talking about another HJC helmet and since the new Spiderman Homecoming film is out, it’s time to celebrate with the HJC CS-15 Spiderman Homecoming Motorcycle Helmet! I’ve already written about the CS-15 before and my favourite was the Space graphic but my younger self that used to watch Saturday cartoons is screaming on the inside and telling me that this is my new favourite. Which was no small task because Iron Man has always been my favourite Marvel hero and the Iron Man IS-17 Helmet was awesome.
For all it’s great looks this limited edition Marvel Spiderman motorcycle helmet is still the same CS-15 helmet through and through. And this is a positive point for me because, graphics aside, it was a fantastic helmet and is better than it’s price tag would have you believe. If I remember correctly, the Medium size in this helmet weighs in at 1450g but upon picking the helmet up, it really feels lighter than that. The shell is kept nice and light since it’s made of an advanced Polycarbonate material and was designed using CAD technology for an accurate, well-fitting helmet with an aerodynamic shell. The shell and liners beneath also have the “ACS” Advanced Channeling Ventilation System to keep you cool. It flushes heat and humidity with air flowing through the front vents and out of the helmet at the back through the rear exhaust vents.
The visor is quite nifty too. It comes off with a secure ratchet system for really quick visor removal and for putting a new visor on. The visor is also Pinlock ready and provides 99% protection from UV light so you can keep fog-free and look after your eyes but it doesn’t come with the Pinlock insert included, I’m afraid. It comes with a clear visor fitted as standard but you can find a new HJC CS-15 visor at Ghostbikes.com and they’re available in a variety of colours if you fancy adding a personal touch. The helmet also has grooves in the padding for glasses to ensure that people wearing them under the helmet are comfortable and aren’t needing to bend their frames to get them to fit. But it’s still a good idea to use a pair of glasses with thinner, more flexible frames. I know thicker framed glasses are becoming trendy again and you might be able to make it work with the helmet but you’ll have a much easier time with something a bit more low profile.
The chin strap has a quick-release micro-buckle instead of a double D-ring fastening for quick buckle-up and removal of the helmet. But what really impresses me about this helmet is the interior padding. Not only is it removable for washing but its also moisture-wicking for keeping you dry, its odor-eliminating and its anti-bacterial for keeping things fresh. It might not seem like a big deal but that feature in a £149.99 helmet is awesome and quite a rare thing. Its usually a feature really seen in helmets that cost a lot more.
But if the price is still a bit steep for you- I challenge you to find it cheaper elsewhere. Because if you can, Ghostbikes.com will not only match the price but they’ll also aim to beat it. So have a look around, let us know and see if you can save yourself some cash! Now, I know it’s only on Pre-order right now and you might be concerned about sizes when you order online. Well, if you’re able to, come on in-store and try on some of our other HJC CS-15 helmets. They use the same shell so you can try one on here and know what size you are for certain.
Thanks for reading everyone! Until next time!
