This time it’s a shiny new ramp, perfect for getting your bike into the back of a van for transport or whatever you may want to use the ramp for- it get the bike to higher places. The Black Pro Range Steel Folding Motorcycle Ramp is sturdy and a great piece of gear.
The Black Pro Range Steel folding Motorcycle Ramp is a well thought out piece of kit with specs that make it suitable for lots of different bikes. It’s maximum weight tolerance is 225kg, making it suitable for many bikes, especially the lighter Dirt Bikes and Sports Bikes such as the 161kg Suzuki GSXR600 modelling it in the photo below. But you may want to check your bike’s specs before you go getting one for your 300+kg touring bike. In fact, checking the specifications for the weight of your bike is a good idea regardless before you buy a ramp anyway. Unless you’ve got a 125cc ride, in which case you’re probably quite safe no matter which bike ramp you pick.
I found that while getting the bike up the ramp for the photos that the ramp is easy to use and quite forgiving. The serrated surface of the ramp prevents the tires from slipping, even in wet conditions and it also really helps when lowering the bike back down the ramp with a gentle touch on the front brake. The serrated surface of the ramp isn’t sharp and the edges are smooth to the touch, so while it provides grip and clings to the bike’s tires, it doesn’t damage them.
The motorcycle ramp also folds in half, making it 970mm long, 200mm wide and 120mm deep, making the ramp easy to store in either your garage or the back of the vehicle you would use to transport the bike. With a maximum unfolded length of 1830mm, it gives plenty of room for your bike while on it with a good amount of distance for the bike to use the ramp as a run-up. It even has a lip of steel to help anchor the upper end of the ramp to the elevated surface you’re moving the bike on to.
Despite being called the “Black Pro Range“, that Black part is the brand name. This ramp is only available in silver but colour never really matters too much when it comes to equipment such as this. In the end it does it’s job and bare steel always looks good. For £34.99 there’s not a bike owner’s van or garage around that can’t afford to have one.
