Hey, everyone! This is actually a bit exciting for me to talk to you all about as we have a new brand in stock! We’ve only got a few in, just testing the waters for now I suppose but they’re such a well-known brand that I don’t think there’s any way we won’t be stocking more. We have Alpinestars stuff now! So, to celebrate, I’m going to tell you about a pair of their boots that I personally have my eye on for my own boots collection- The Alpinestars Gunner WP Motorcycle Boots.
These boots caught my attention as I’m looking for a light, protective boot to wear on more casual rides. They have to look good and provide the best protection a shorter boot can give. I don’t know what kind of distances I’d be covering in boots like these so I’d also want something that can hold it’s own regardless of the weather as well. The Gunner boots offer everything I could ever want out of a shorter pair of boots and more.
The Gunners are made from a synthetic material and a microfibre construction so they’re light and tough. Beneath it all is a waterproof membrane that is sure to keep your feet dry- a lot of people come into the shop to ask me “how proof is waterproof” and all I can really say is “Within reason”. They’ll stand up to the weather, but don’t stick your foot in a bucket, if you’re wearing waterproof pants as well, they aren’t tucked into the boots and the boots are properly fastened then your feet should stay dry. Which is all I’ll need out of these boots since I wouldn’t tuck my pants into them anyway.
Despite not having much of a shin to speak of, the boots still have shin protection in the form of a plate inside the boot. The same plating can be found inside the internal toe box and the heel of the boot as well so even though the boot is smaller and lighter than your average boot- it still has plenty of protective features to protect the most damage prone areas of the foot. It also has comfort features, too! The footbed of the boot is designed for anatomic comfort on the foot and it’s also replaceable for when you want a new one.
For £159.99 the Alpinestars gunner WP Motorcycle Boots are a fantastic short boot and would make an excellent addition to your motorbiking arsenal. They’re tough, they’re comfy and they look awesome. They’ll make a fine addition to my own collection as well!
