The Rev It Akira Leather Motorcycle Jacket

Hey, everyone! I’m on a bit of a kick lately with leather gear. With all the new stock we’ve been getting in and everything we’ve been squeezing onto display in the shop it was hard for me to not have a good look at the Rev It Leather Jackets since I’m such a fan of my Rev It Masaru Jacket. So after having a look about I came across the Rev It Akira Leather Motorcycle Jacket in all it’s variations and I have to say I love it a lot.

The Rev It Akira Jackets are made from Augustini Full Grain cow Hide and Monaco Performance Cow Hide. That’s two kinds of thick leather that are there to take any punishment should you find yourself somehow still travelling down the road without your bike.

The Akira Jacket also has dual composite sliders on the shoulder and elbows, providing a little bit of impact protection and plenty more abrasion resistance on those areas that’re prone to being ground down in a slide.

The Akira jacket has two looks to it, the regular version and the “Vintage” version. The vintage version has a little less paneling, such as on the chest, but is made with a leather that has a more worn brown look. This is great for anyone with a more classic ride that wants all the benefits of modern protection while still looking awesome.

But each of these two designs also has an “air” version. The Akira Air and the Akira Air Vintage have more perforations in the leather to allow maximum airflow and keep you much cooler than the regular versions of the jacket. this makes them much more pleasant to ride in on those searingly hot summer days.

From £469.99 to £539.99 [prices accurate 26/6/18] it’s not a cheap jacket. But as the proud owner of my own Rev It gear I have to say they are well worth it. Safe, comfortable and look bloody awesome. Thanks for reading, everyone! Until next time!

NEW! Merlin now in Stock!

Hey, everyone! It’s always exciting when a new brand pops with us, I get to have a look around and see what new stuff we have. I’m very happy to announce that we now have Merlin Bike Gear in stock! I’m already the proud owner of my own Merlin Alton Leather Motorcycle Jacket and people have visited us before asking if we have the brand in stock. We didn’t then but we do now!

A lot of the gear is yet to be listed on the website as I write this [20/4/18] but from what I’ve seen there’s a great selection of leather jackets and waxed jackets to choose from and even some trousers to suit them as well as a good number of bike boots.

There’s even motorcycle airbag protection systems which have been really interesting. I’ve never seen one in the flesh before and I’m kind of itching to set one off just to see what they’re like. Purely for motorcycle safety science, of course.

New! The Spidi Garage Leather Motorcycle Jacket

Hey, everyone! Our range or products and brands has been growing fast! and now we’ve got loads of Spidi products in stock, a well-loved brand by many that’re known for high quality leathers and top tier protection. So you can expect plenty of entries in the future to feature a lot of Spidi stuff. Partly because I want to tell you all about it but mostly because it gives me a reason to gawk at everything. So I’ll start off my Spidi spree with one of the jackets that immediately caught my eye- The Spidi Garage Leather Motorcycle Jacket.

Right from the name, Garage, this jacket already tells you all about it’s style. There’s something of a grungey, rock star, garage band vibe happening in there that gives it a bit of a rebellious, bad boy style. But it’s not throwing it in your face- it’s still a very tidy jacket that would look great as a part of a casual kit ridden by anyone on a custom chop to a sports bike.

It’s made from genuine, premium cow leather that was tanned in Italy. The jacket is water resistant by about 50% but it is ready to accept Spidi’s H2Out Membrane [X47 man] which is sold seperately but will upgrade you to a fully waterproof jacket. It’s also ready to accept Spidi’s Thermo Lining L30 man, sold seperately, if you want a warmer jacket. So this jacket’s upgrade-ability is already fantastic.

As with most jackets- the Spidi Garage Leather Motorcycle Jacket doesn’t come with any back protection installed- but what Spidi do have is a whole selection of Spidi Armour to choose from. From back protectors to full on back and chest protection harnesses, they’re all great choices. But at least you don’t have to worry so much about your shoulders and elbows as the Garage Jacket does come with Warrior Protectors certified to CE level 1.

At £419.99 it is a bit pricey. But that said- it’s a Spidi jacket, it’s pure quality and it’s dripping with style. You can buy this jacket with the confidence that you’re getting a worthwhile jacket and I wouldn’t just be wearing mine on the bike. It’s an awesome jacket for any occasion. There’s even a pair of Spidi Gloves of the same name, the Spidi Garage Motorcycle Gloves, that would go excellently with the Garage Jacket and you’ll feel as safe as you look awesome.
