MX Force Goggles

Hello, everyone! I found just one last thing to blog about with the MX Force gear! The MX Force Magen Motocross Goggles and the MX force Nimbus Motocross Goggles!

THE GOODS

So I’ll start with their most affordable goggles at just £14.99 to £19.99 if you want a fancy graphic, the MX Force Magen Motocross Goggles. They’re a great looking pair of goggles for such a low price, I’m especially fond of how Storm Trooper-y they look in plain white. While simple to look at, the shapes in the frame are still aggressive and give these goggles a cool presence. They have anti-fog and UV protective lenses, silicon backed straps and triple layered foam so that they sit comfortably on the face. For £14.99, MXers really have to give these a go and if you like them- buy a couple so that you’ve got a spare pair, it’s a price tag you should really be taking advantage of. Magen goggles also come in the Magen Tide and Magen Cube graphics if you’re after something that’ll catch a bit more attention or fancy something a bit different.

Next up is the MX Force Nimbus. At £19.99 to £24.99 its a little bit more pricey than the Magen but still a great pair of goggles. This pair seems to be a little more angular at the nose but has a smoother curve in the frame that goes across the brow. It results in a slightly less aggressive look compared to the Magens but the Nimbus goggles have a pair of extra bridges on the sides of the frame. I can only imagine that this it to pull just a little more on the goggles and keep them closely sealed against the face while giving the straps a bit of clearance from the helmet for a more secure and comfortable fit in the aperture of the helmet.

Aside from that, the Nimbus is very similar to the Magen, it has the anti-fog and UV protective lens, the strap is silicon backed and the face foam is triple layered for comfort. But if you want something a bit less plain, the MX Force Nimbus Motocross Goggles are also available in a few different graphics- the Nimbus Spark, Nimbus Titan and Nimbus Aria

THE VERDICT

So what do I think of MX Force? Honestly, I think Wulfsport has a serious competitor when it comes to providing quality MX gear at a price that everyone can afford. Or at least they can afford them here. I don’t know about anywhere else but our MX Force Range is really really under-priced for the quality that it is. So If I were you, I’d take advantage before someone decides to hike the price up. If people are in store over the weekend for MX gear but don’t know what they want or what they should get- Wulfsport is usually my go-to brand. It looks good, its affordable and does the job. So its going to be really nice to have MX Force as another brand that’s available for about the same amount of money and it gives people more options to choose from. I can see MX Force being very popular, at least while we still have it in stock. But if the MX Force Goggles aren’t your thing- we have loads of other Motocross Goggles for you to choose from!

The Oneal 3 Series Attack MX Helmet

Hey, everyone! We’ve been getting quite a bit of MX gear in lately with new gear from Fly Racing, Oneal and there’s even news that we’ll have Fox Racing gear soon too! But for now, I thought I’d bring a new helmet to the spotlight- the Oneal 3 Series Attack Motocross Helmet.

I mostly want to talk about this helmet because it completes the Oneal 2018 Attack Kit of the same graphic, which happens to be my favourite of all the Oneal 2018 gear. And the kit looks that great I just had to make a blog about the helmet as well since I can tell it’s going to be a popular set.

The shell of the helmet is made of an ABS construction, a lightweight but tough polymer with excellent properties for taking impact forces and dispersing it across the shell to minimise damage to the head. As well as being covered in a really cool graphic, every time I look at it, I find something different in it. It’s very similar to Oneal’s “Crank” graphic but with a more controlled amount of colour which makes it a bit easier to match with other kits of the same hi-vis, white and black palette. That said, the helmet does also come in a red and teal version too which also looks very striking.

The padding in the helmet is soft and comfortable as well as removable, because riding off-road can work up quite the sweat and Oneal knows that you’ll want to be able to take that lining out to be able to wash it and keep it fresh. Everything is simply held in place with poppers that pop off and pop back in with a little bit of effort, so taking it all out and putting it back in the right way is really easy.

To help keep you cool in your off road rides, the helmet also features a number of vents, designed to let hot air flow out while the cool air pours in and keep you from overheating inside your lid.

The peak on the helmet is adjustable, so you have some control over the amount of light getting in your eyes and a good guard against any debris from the track that’s kicked up in your direction.

The chin strap features a double D-ring fastener, the most secure of the helmet fastening methods, so you can be sure your helmet is going to stay safely and firmly on your noggin as you’re flying off those bumps in the track.

The helmet weighs just 1350g, give or take another 50g depending on what size you get but the weight is nice and easy on the neck, preventing neck strain which can lead to an uncomfortable ride. The helmet is also very safe too, it meets the latest ECE 22-05 standards, is DOT approved and is even ACU approved for use on track days.

At just £88.95, this helmet is an amazingly reasonable price, especially considering how new the graphic is as well as considering the brand- Oneal, who are well known for making some of the best MX gear out there on the market. The helmet combined with the trousers, jersey and gloves comes to just £240.80. Not even £250 and you’ll have got yourself one of Oneal’s best looking and best performing kits going.

Fly Racing 2018 Kinetic Kits

Hey, everyone! We’re getting quite a bit of Motocross gear in lately so I figured I’d write up about some more of them while the news is still fresh. We’ve had a good load of Oneal gear in that I’ve already written about but now we’ve also got in some of the Fly Racing 2018 goodies! The most notable of which is the new Fly Racing 2018 Kinetic Era motocross gear.

The design on the Kinetic Era gear is simple compared to a lot of other kits that have a mess of colour and shapes thrown all over them. But the Kinetic Era gear has a more classic style and vibrant colours to ensure that you look great and are definitely going to be seen. The graphics and colours in the jerseys are all sublimated too, so those colours will stay bright and vibrant over time, ensuring the competition will always recognise who’s ahead of them.

The Fly Racing 2018 Kinteic Era Jersey is made from a multi-panel construction and is designed to a standard fit, so that the way the jersey has been made to be comfortable whether you get a size to fit your body or a size to fit your body while you’re all armoured up.

Some of those panels in this multi-panel construction are mesh panels that allow the jerseys to breathe exceptionally well and help to keep you from overheating. It’s especially handy if you’re a rider who tends to clad themselves in armour for some serious riding which can work up a good sweat. The tail at the back of the jersey is extended too which helps to keep it all tucked in, if that’s how you wear it.

The collar of the jersey has a couple of notable features- and weirdly enough, one of those features is that a certain feature isn’t there. The collar is able to stretch a bit to accommodate a head slipping through but it also means that it’s comfortable if the jersey is pulled on way or another and keeps the material from irritating the skin. The feature that isn’t on the collar but still counts as a feature- the collar is tagless, so there are no irritating little bits of material rubbing and scraping at the nape of your neck. For £29.99, this is a very comfortable jersey made by people who know what an MXer needs to stay relaxed but stay focused.

The Fly Racing 2018 Kinetic Era Pants are made to match the jerseys and their different colours, but at £114.99, these pants have an impressive amount of features that make them a nicely sturdy bit of kit. Just for a start, the pants are made up of a 900D multi-panel construction, making them good and tough for taking off-road with giving plenty of breathing room.

For added protection the Kinetic Era pants have leather heat shield panels on the inside of the legs to keep you from getting toasted by your own engine. And those panels are kept in place with DuPont Kevlar stitching, so those panels are really durable and they aren’t going anywhere. Plus- Kevlar isn’t very good at conducting heat so it’s a prefect material for the job.

The knee area and legs on these pants are very well thought out in general- the knees themselves are ergonomically pre-shaped and have a large air intake system that keep them well ventilated as well as having stretch panels to give the knees a lot of freedom of movement. The knees are also designed to accommodate any riders that wear knee braces or guards.

At the waist of the pants it has a ratchet closure system with an adjustable belt so that you can get a secure fit that’s just right for you. And they’re accompanied by a zipper lock system at the front that keep the pants closed. Despite all that’s on these pants for the purpose of keeping your pants around your waist, they’re still easy to gear up and gear out of. There’s even an internal pocket inside the waistband for keeping small valuables you can’t do without

There’s more I could go on about with these pants but all I can really say about them is that they’re very well designed for keeping the rider cool and comfortable- well worth the £114.99 price tag with all the features that help to keep the rider’s mind on what’s ahead.

The Black Strike Waterproof Motorcycle Boots

Hey everyone! It seemed like it was going to be a lovely day this morning but now I can hear rain outside, so I’ve chosen a waterproof boot from one of our own brands to introduce to you all. The Black Strike Waterproof Motorcycle Boots!

I chose to present this boot because it offers the best of both worlds. Sometimes when you’re looking for waterproof bike gear you have to sacrifice on style in exchange for keeping dry. The Strike boots manage to do both. You get to keep the racer, sporty style of boot with ample shin protection but you also get to keep your socks from getting soaked.

The main shell of the boot is constructed from a tough leather, a great, protective and abrasion resistant material that will take the brunt of any abuse headed at your feet. To keep the boot flexible there are also areas of latex foam stretch panels that are designed to make the boot more comfortable to wear by giving the foot a bit more freedom of movement and allowing the ankle to flex.

For extra reinforcement the toe cap of the boot is made from a Techno GI Thermoplastic. That may sound like a cheap material but I assure you its great stuff, a flexible plastic designed to take impact and spread the force throughout the material. Its much safer than other materials such as metal like in a steel toe cap as metal can mangle in an impact or seriously damage your toes.

The boots also have added molded support and protection in areas such as the shins, heels and ankles to keep your feet firm and safe inside the boot, providing what impact protection they can and excellent abrasion resistance. The sole of the boot is made from a tough vulcanised rubber that provides great grip both on and off the bike and it also features an anti-twist mid sole made form molded Nylon that helps to prevent the foot from being twisted in unnatural ways in a crash.

Now on the the inside of the boot. Although you may not be able to see it, the inside of the boot has a Hipora waterproof lining, a breathable waterproof membrane that keeps water out, is tough but also flexible. Covering the waterproofing is an air mesh lining that is plush and comfortable on the foot, yet allows the foot to breathe and avoid overheating by trapping hot air inside. At the bottom of the boot is a triple density construction comfort insole, designed to keep the wearer of the boot comfortable with three of its properties; Its anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and moisture wicking, so the boots are comfy and hygienic. They’re also available in white if you prefer and they come in sizes UK 7 to UK 12.

There’s a lot more to say about these boots but it all more or less amounts to me praising them. But if you don’t believe me, you can check out the customer reviews of the Strike boots on Feefo. With a rating of 4.8/5 you know this is a quality item and at £68.99 its great value for money when you’re getting such a versatile designer bike boot. But the Black Strike Waterproof Motorcycle Boots are just one great selection from the Black range of products. The Knox Handroid

We’ve had a few customers come into the shop asking about these gloves. I’ve always had my eye on them but never really picked them up properly to have a good, long look and see what makes them so special. So I decided I’d have a sit down, take that good look, do a bit of research and see what I make of the Knox Handroid Motorcycle Gloves. And I have to admit that I’m impressed with them.

To me, Knox is a brand that is very similar to Rev’It in status. Their products typically have high price tags for what the product seems to be on the outside but when you dig deeper into the meat of that product and see what its made of and all the features they have- those price tags are usually justified. The Knox Handroids are no different, to anyone just looking at them on a shelf next to a bunch of other gloves, people may wonder why the Handroid MKIIIs are so expensive at £169.95. They may see it as your usual leather glove just with a bit more plastic protecting you in places. But there is more than meets the eye to these gloves.

The first thing anyone is going to notice about these gloves is obvious- its how they look like a pair of armoured gloves taken right out of science fiction. The different panels of leather combined with the areas of solid armour truly make this glove one of the most unique things I have ever seen and it’s really hard to not be tempted to buy them for that reason alone. The areas of armour on this glove, called the exoskeleton, provide protection to just about everywhere that I can think of. The flexible armour on the backs of the fingers and thumb are probably the most notable as they’re something I’ve never seen before on any glove. Those “spines” and the harder anchoring points down the fingers provide excellent slide protection in places that most gloves either overlook completely or provide a lesser degree of armour coverage.

The armour on the back of the hand appears to be nothing hugely special. Its a cool shape and is used to anchor three of the finger spines in place but armour on the back of the hand isn’t all that uncommon until you discover this glove is CE Approved protection. On top of that the back of the hand has a Knox Gel Metapod beneath the armour that keeps everything comfortable. The more I dig into this glove, the more science fiction-like it gets!

The glove really was designed to protect racers and people travelling at a more sporty speed. The gloves have sliders just about everywhere, a system designed to make sure that in the event of a slide, the sliders are taking most of the abrasion and as little of the leather makes contact with the ground as possible. The leather is still strong enough to save your skin but Knox have built a glove where, ideally, it won’t need to.

Speaking of leather, the gloves are made from Japanese race quality Aniline leather and are stitched together using high tenacity threading to ensure a tough glove as a platform for all that armour. But that’s not all the leather it has, the palm is made from Kangaroo leather and features an Amara grip pad with silicon printing to give you the best protection and control over your ride. The palm also has a Scaphoid Protection System that’s designed to reduce the risk of hyper-extension when leather on the palm makes contact with the road, helping to avoid a broken Scaphoid.

All of that protective technology in on pair of gloves is hard to believe, so you may be wondering how it all stays on your hand. The Boa closure system on the wrist is a small dial that allows the wearer to fine tune the fit of the glove to them. But there is a small downside to all of the features this glove is packing- many of the people who ask about this glove intend for it to fit underneath the sleeves of their jackets. It’s not really something I understand, though- it’s a race glove, designed to be worn with race gear such as race jackets that are naturally quite a snug fit with aerodynamic sleeves. So getting the bulk of the cuff of these gloves underneath the sleeves is going to be a tough feat to achieve. Its certainly doable if you want to wear these gloves with a good touring jacket that has a wide aperture cuff on the sleeve but for you who what to try to fit them under a tighter sleeve I suggest trying an alternative.

That alternative is the Knox Handroid Pod Motorcycle Gloves. At £149.95 they offer almost the exact same level of protection but they don’t feature the bulky cuffs. They’re a bit of a shorter cut and they should fit under sleeves but the Boa Dial closure may still cause a bit of an obstruction. So while I say the Handroid MKIII will definitely not fit under sleeves, I would suggest giving the Handroid Pods a try before committing to them.

I’d better stop myself here, I could go on and on about my opinion of these gloves but the features all over them speak for themselves. They’re some of the most advanced gloves with the best protective technology you can get. For £169.95 for the MKIIIs and £149.95 for the Pods its well worth it knowing your hands are covered by the best gloves out there.
